SUMMARY:Beyond the Tape: Reimagining Crime Scenes in Extended Reality
DESCRIPTION:Extended Reality (XR) has emerged as a transformative tool in forensic education\, providing immersive virtual crime scene simulations. This presentation outlines the pedagogical impact of XR in forensic education\, along with future potential uses of the technology including dynamic crime scene re-enactments\, precision LiDAR mapping\, non-destructive crime scene analysis\, and scalable scenario testing across disciplines. Followed by a live demonstration of the ForensicXR platform\, developed in conjunction with WSU\, this seminar invites participants to join collaborative conversations on how Extended Reality technologies can redefine evidentiary interaction\, curriculum design and investigative training. \n  \nKirk Duncan is a computer programmer and founder of The Mobile Apps Man\, a Microsoft Mixed Reality Partner specialising in Extended Reality (XR)\, holographic\, and mobile/web app development.
