Inaugural Forensic Science Forum

21/02/2022 | General

Conceptualised after the cancellation of the IAFS/ANZFSS Symposium initially planned for 2020, the WA Branch hosted its Inaugural Forensic Science Forum on 1 October 2021. The program featured guest speakers from the Western Australia Police and Crime Stoppers WA, along with over thirty member presentations showcasing local forensic undertakings across entomology, DNA, anthropology, quality management, and more!

Despite being a wet and wild day, the event was well attended with over 100 practitioners, researchers, and students. After a challenging couple of years, it was a wonderful in-person opportunity to come together and network with like-minded people.

A huge thank you goes to the committee and those supporting the development of the program for this event, particularly our invited speakers.

Congratulations to the presenters on the day, and to those who won poster presentation awards. We look forward to a similar event being held, when appropriate, in the future.
