ANZFSS SA October Meeting and AGM – Search in Action: SA SES Capabilities on Land, Air and Urban Operations with Forensic Applications
Derren Halleday is a Chief of Staff, Deputy State Controller and the Manager, volunteer capacity, within the South Australian State Emergency Services (SA SES). With over 33 years of experience in the agency, Derren plays an active role in commanding emergency response and public safety messaging across South Australia.
His strategic, operational, and technical experience spans all areas of the SA SES. This presentation for ANZFSS will focus on Land searching (including forensic search), Air Observation and Urban Search and Rescue, and how these disciplines interact with forensic science. Derren will discuss historical incidents involving collaborating efforts with forensic services and police to support complex investigations.
Following the meeting, the Annual General Meeting of the South Australian branch will be held. This was postponed from August 2026. Nominations already received remain active.
