ANZFSS NSW AGM – Case Study: A Deep Dive into the 1980s Family Law Court Bombing Cases
Come along on the 4th of September for ANZFSS NSW’s Annual General Meeting followed by a much anticipated talk about the 1980s Family Law Court Bombing Cases. Dr David Bruce, Detective Inspector Mathieu Russell, and Detective Sergeant Matthew Heffernan will provide an overview of the case and the investigations that took place over almost 40 years.
The attacks on the Family Court of Australia occurred throughout 1980-1985, and resulted in four people losing their lives, as well as significant damage to the building of the Family Court. It wasn’t until 2015 that Leonard Warwick was arrested and charged with multiple offences after a decades long police investigation. The trial began in 2018 and concluded after almost 2 years with a guilty verdict and a sentencing of life in prison for Leonard Warwick.
