Membership of the Society is for 12 months from the date of approval and of only one branch. Members are able to attend meetings held by any branch.
Membership can be sought in one of the following four categories:
General Membership
(a) has current or previous employment in a forensic discipline or employment related to forensic science; and
(b) has a relevant qualification from a tertiary institution or relevant forensic experience.
Professional Membership
(a) A general member who:
(i) has held a general membership for a continuous period of at least three years or has made an equivalent professional contribution to a forensic-related field; and
(ii) is recognised as a professional in a forensic-related field; and
(iii) has a relevant qualification from a tertiary institution or has equivalent relevant forensic experience and formal training; and

Student Membership
(a) is currently enrolled full-time at a tertiary institution; and
(b) has an active interest in forensic science.
Please note: Full time eligible students can access one free branch meeting prior to to joining.
Associate Membership
(a) is not eligible for General or Student Membership; but
(b) demonstrates an active interest in forensic science.
Life Membership
Life members are elected General or Professional Members who have made an outstanding and sustained contribution to the Society.
Membership Fees:
General: $55 AUD
Professional: $140 AUD (first year) / $120 AUD (renewals)
Student: $35.00 AUD
Associate: $45.00 AUD
