I obtained my PhD in 1998 and am a Professor in Forensic Chemistry at GU.  My research interests include the analysis of illicit drugs and the development of innovative teaching and learning materials for tertiary forensic science education.  I have been a member of ANZFSS since 2010 when I moved to Australia and a committee member since 2016.

I am a Senior Forensic Research Chemist and have been an operational forensic chemist for 22 years, with a background in Illicit Drugs and Criminalistics. I hold a Bachelor of Applied Science from the QUT and two Masters degrees; one from the QUT and one from the University of Strathclyde (Scotland) where I graduated with distinction winning the Wiley-Blackwell prize. I am currently undertaking a PhD through Griffith University.

I have a keen interest in researching and have published papers in the criminalistics areas of footwear impression analysis, water-based lubricant analysis, as well as illicit drug projects. I have lectured in Illicit Drug analysis at Griffith University since 2011. I have been a member of ANZFSS since 2002 and have been a committee member since 2018.

I graduated from dentistry in 1995, and I am a registered Specialist Orthodontist in private practice. I have always had a keen interest in forensic dentistry and work part-time with the Forensic Odontology team in Brisbane providing specialist-level identification services at QHFSS. I joined ANZFSS in 2014 and have been branch president since 2017. I am part of the organising committee for the ANZFSS 2022 Symposium

I am the Senior Research Officer within the Forensic Services Group at the Queensland Police Service. I completed my PhD in 2025, a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Forensic Science with Class I Honours in 2021, and a Bachelor of Forensic Science (Forensic Chemistry) in 2020, all at Griffith University. My research and career interests focus on leading and supporting innovative projects that inform best practices and advance the field of forensic science. I have been a member of ANZFSS since 2019 and joined the committee in 2023.

I graduated a Bachelor of Forensic Science/Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice (Honours) from Griffith University in 2022. I am currently undertaking a PhD at Griffith University with Dr William Gee as my supervisor. My project focus is in forensic chemistry.

I am a forensic scientist within BDNA, having worked as a forensic DNA analyst for nearly 20 years.  I have undertaken various roles in that time, working my way from laboratory assistant to reporting scientist, where my main duties include interpreting DNA profiles and presenting results in court.  I hold a Bachelor of Applied Science (Biotechnology) and a Graduate Diploma in Forensic Investigation.  I have been a member of ANZFSS since 2013.

I am a senior forensic scientist (chemist) with the Analytical Services Unit in the Scientific Section of the QPS. I was acknowledged as a VC Scholar when graduating with a Master of Scientific Studies (Chemistry) from the University of New England in 2018. In my spare time, I enjoy bushwalking and skiing and am looking forward to travelling to more countries and ticking them off my bucket list.

I am a Scientist in the Analytical section at Forensic DNA Analysis at QHFSS and have worked there since 2005. I graduated from the UQ in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science with majors in Molecular Biology and Zoology. I have been a member of ANZFSS since 2006 and have been the Queensland Branch Secretary since 2011.

I am the manager of Research and Innovation at Forensic Science Queensland where I lead the Research Futures Branch. I also hold an Adjunct Associate Professor role in the School of Environment and Science at Griffith University. My work focusses on developing new techniques and methodologies in the broad areas of forensic biology, forensic chemistry, and wildlife forensic science. I have a strong commitment to scientific innovation and research directed towards enhancing global forensic practices and helping to shape conservation policies.

I obtained my bachelor’s and master’s degree at universities in the Netherlands and started my career in forensics as a DNA expert at Eurofins – TMFI in the Netherlands. Last year I moved to Queensland, Australia and have been working as a Senior Forensic Biologist at Forensic Science Queensland since October 2024. I became a member of ANZFSS shortly after and I’ve joined the ANZFSS QLD committee in October 2025. My main interests are in (forensic) genetics research and improving processes, ensuring best practice and efficient approaches are applied
